Burma is one of the world's most brutal and oppressive regimes. The people of Karenni State live in fear under this regime. Rape, killings, torture and forced labour are all common. Many Karenni have been driven from their homes, their villages burned and landmines placed to prevent them from ever returning.

Some flee to live in the jungle, constantly on the run, while others cross to Thailand in search of refuge.
